Library of Congress Participates in Shakespeare in Washington

From February through July 2007 the Library of Congress will participate in Shakespeare in Washington with special tours, displays and films. The Library will offer special Shakespeare-themed tours of the Jefferson Building on a bi-weekly basis. The Mary Pickford Theater at the Library of Congress will offer a film series featuring classic adaptations such as Laurence Olivier’s Hamlet (1948) and Macbeth (1952) with Orson Welles as well as some modern adaptations such as Shakespearean Spinach, a creative interpretation of Romeo and Juliet featuring Popeye the Sailor.
