The holidays are the busiest time of year for travel. Here are some resources to help you plan ahead and get on your way more easily.
By airplane - Find up-to-date flight delay information for major United States airports. You should also check with your specific airline to confirm schedule changes. Be sure to arrive early so that you give yourself enough time to find parking, check luggage and get through security. Most airlines recommend arrival at least 2 hours in advance.
By car - What’s more frustrating than sitting in gridlocked traffic? Hour-long traffic jams occur often on many of the major roads around Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. Check out these traffic reports before you head out on the road and keep phone numbers handy to call from your cell phone if you get in a jam.
