Navy Day in Washington DC

Saturday, October 11, 2008, Washington, DC celebrates the U.S. Navy’s birthday with performances, displays, tours, concerts, and kids activities. All day long at the U. S. Navy Memorial and Washington Navy Yard there will be family-friendly activities and giveaways including boat-building crafts, battleship challenges, coloring, face painters, balloon artists, caricature artists, and LEGO block building. Enjoy an explosive ordinance disposal display and demonstrations. On display will be a: Military Humvee, Tactical Vehicle Replacement Truck (MTVR), Military construction equipment (Grater), Mini Tall Ship Spirit, Tactical Ambulance Equipment Displayed by Corpsmen, and other exciting exhibits.

Navy Day Event Schedule
  • U.S. Navy Memorial - 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Washington Navy Yard - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Free parking is available for 700+ cars at the Navy Yard and a free shuttle bus stops at the Navy Yard, Navy Memorial, Eastern Market Metro, and Navy Yard Metro.
