it’s not ice, but it seems to work like ice (I just watched) it’s temporary set-up. Moe’s SW grill is where the rentals are — Grill seems to have closed.

uhmm…it’s SO not ice!! idk why they even call it an “ice skating rink”. they should call it a “PLASTIC skating rink”. plus, everyone there is like 6 years old and under. the plastic is really hard to skate on…most people were just running around. like elissa said, sorta a scam unless, ya know, you like to skate on plastic, or you have really little kids, they seemed like they were having fun. i’d go to a real rink.

I actually went and tried it. It was…a different experience, that’s for sure. It took 2 hours to get used to, and by then you were totally done with it. It also easily dulls the edges of your skates, which is no fun. But it would be kind of a novelty if it stays open after March…

I agree with Lulu, I am a serious figure skater & this rink definately dulled my skates, but what can you expect. Quite interesting, I think it would be a novelty if the rink stayed open during the summer. Outdoor ice skating in the summer would be a unique expieriance that is for sure.

It is very family friendly skating. Everyone stays warm and dry. Falls sometimes happen but the surface is not as hard as ice.
Some professionals have skated on this surface to build muscle. It takes more effort to glide, so you get a work out quickly.
Children learn in a gentle environment.
There are double blades for toddler and beginner preschoolers. I have seen several 60+ skaters enjoying the outdoor exercise.
It is different than ice but it is great fun for the family.

I love the ice rink place, great service, and the people working there are nice, the plastic surface in my opinion is both easier and funner to skate on…..

    Go check it out!

Excuse me, Michael. But IF I am not mistaken, “funner” is NOT a word. I would also never use that to describe this plastic mess. It was AWFUL!

It’s certainly different than ice! It is fun however, as long as you realize going in that it’s going to take some getting used to. Perfect for kids.

Geez Franny….who made you head of the grammar police? Calm down…at least someone enjoys that ice rink.

    (11) Franny (NOT the Grammar Police) says:

“Grammar Police”…goodness…you call yourself that and you accuse ME of wanting to head the Grammar Police? Seems like that is your job. And I am merely trying to alert the public that this rink may be a waste of money, as it is small, crowded, and somewhat difficult to skate on. I certainly regretted the $10 I spent on it & wished I had spent it at the nearby Fractured Prune Donut Shoppe.
