Washington, DC Film Festivals

The Washington, DC Independent Film Festival runs March 4-15, 2009 and shows the latest feature, short, animation and documentary films by local, national, and international filmmakers. Many of the festival films have gone on to the Academy Awards, Sundance, Toronto and Cannes, where some have taken prizes. Also, this month, the 2009 DC Environmental Film Festival, runs March 11-22, 2009, featuring 115 documentary, feature, animated, and children's films from around the world. Films will include discussions with filmmakers or scientists.
