All Star Week at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

Wednesday June 24, 2009
Wolf Trap Presents an All-Star Week of Grammy Award-Winning Pop, Rock, and Soul with Tony Bennett, Sheryl Crow, and Gladys Knight.
  • Tony Bennett - Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 8 p.m. The legendary Tony Bennett returns to Wolf Trap for an evening of timeless jazz-infused pop standards that have made him one of the most celebrated musicians in history. From his first hits, Because of You and I Left My Heart in San Francisco, Bennett has bridged the generational gap with his Grammy winning album, MTV Unplugged and recent duets with Michael Buble and the Dixie Chicks.

  • Sheryl Crow - Friday, July 3, 2009 at 8 p.m. Sheryl Crow has become a household name through her catchy pop-rock tunes that have dominated the airwaves for almost two decades. Covering topics from global warming to her public fight against breast cancer, Crow's Detours continues to wrap her recognizable pop-rock style around thought-provoking, culturally relevant issues.

  • Gladys Knight - Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 8 p.m. One of soul music's enduring pioneers, Gladys Knight's newest album, Before Me, is inspired by the classics of her predecessors. With a celebrated solo career, collaborating along the way with greats Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Dionne Warwick, Knight's classic, unforgettable melodies succeed in drawing audiences back into the classy sophistication of the days of their inception. Lifetime achievement honors include a 1996 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, recognition from the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, and Black Entertainment Television.
