Ford's Theatre Museum Reopening
Wednesday July 15, 2009
The Ford’s Theatre Museum in Washington, DC is scheduled to reopen on July 15, 2009. This marks the first major museum renovation since the theater
opened to the public in 1968 as a historic site. Whereas the previous exhibits focused mainly on Lincoln's assassination,
the reimagined museum tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's presidency. Exhibits explore Lincoln's cabinet and Civil War milestones and include a collection of historic artifacts, including the deringer that John Wilkes Booth used to shoot the president, the
suit and boots worn by Lincoln to Ford's Theatre on April 14, 1865, and much more.
