Security Cameras on the Washington Metro

By , About.com GuideSeptember 30, 2009

Washington Metrorail will soon increase its security by installing video cameras on rail cars and at the metro station entrances and the end of platforms. The added security will be funded by $27.8 million in grants from the Department of Homeland Security. Frankly, I am surprised that it has taken so many years after 9-11 for cameras to be installed. Do you think this is a good idea? Will you feel more secure or do you think this is an invasion of privacy?
