Help the Homeless Walk - Washington, DC

Did you know that there are almost 12,000 homeless people in the Washington metropolitan area? The Fannie Mae Foundation is sponsoring a Help the Homeless Walk on the National Mall on November 21, 2009. The walk is designed to raise awareness and funds for Washington, DC area organizations that are working to prevent and end homelessness, with an emphasis on programs that help homeless people return to independent living. Pre-registration and check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. on the front lawn of the Department of Agriculture, at Jefferson Drive between 12th and 14th Streets NW.
