If you have always wanted to know more about architecture, here is your chance. Architecture Week is a series of public events that celebrate architecture in the nation's capital. Starting September 10th, the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|DC), along with Embassies and Cultural Centers will host more than two dozen events and special programs to celebrate the importance of architecture in our world. This year's "week" is actually three weeks long with programs and events running from September 10-30, 2010 at assorted venues in Washington DC. Members of the general public and architectural practitioners will get closer to architecture and learn more about the buildings they've always wondered about, like embassies, private residences, cultural centers and historic sites. The majority of Architecture Week programs are free, while others have minimal registration fees.

While you’re in town for Architecture Week, stop by the National Building Museum (www.nbm.org) and see their amazing exhibition of LEGO skyscrapers, a brand new exhibition of the drawings by Renaissance master architect Andrea Palladio, and much more!
