Georgetown Restaurants Offer Valentine's Day Love Potion Cocktail Specials

Many Georgetown restaurants are concocting specially seductively Love Potions for the Valentine's Day weekend and offering a special of 2 drinks for $14. Made with everything from desire-inducing fig to alluring rich chocolate, Georgetown is setting the stage for a romantic rendezvous with that special "someone." The special is available from Friday, February 11 through Monday, February 14, 2011. Each cocktail includes at least one natural aphrodisiac - everything from luscious strawberries to herbal sage. This is a great opportunity to enjoy reasonably priced cocktails in a romantic setting.

Here is a list of participating restaurants and their Love Potions:

  • Bourbon Steak - 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. Diners are encouraged to indulge their guilty pleasures with Bourbon Steak's Cinn City, a sinful cocktail made with Four Roses bourbon, Peychaud's bitters and cinnamon, stirred and served up with a twist.

  • Neyla - 3206 N St., NW. Often named one of the most romantic restaurants in DC, Neyla is offering three different aphrodisiac cocktails throughout the weekend including The Figo with fresh fig, dark rum and fresh lime juice, The Fraise with fresh muddled strawberries, fresh sage and wild cherry vodka and the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle with 70% Valrhona chocolate fondue, raspberry infused vodka and Frangelico.

  • Ristorante Piccolo - 1068 31st St., NW.Known for their delicious selection of housemade grappas, Ristorante Piccolo is offering three love potions with the traditional Italian grape liquor. Guests can sip the Black Mojito with housemade blackberry grappa, fresh mint and lime, Bello Mirtillo with housemade blueberry grappa, fresh lime and Sprite or the Bella Donna, a combination of Bacardi Limon, housemade strawberry grappa, Crème de Banana and fresh lemon juice.

  • Paolo's Ristorante - 1303 Wisconsin Ave., NW. Almost like dessert in a glass, Paolo's is mixing up the indulgent Menage a Trois with three jumbo strawberries, Cointreau, Amaretto, Tia Maria, chocolate ganache and powdered sugar.

  • Mie N Yu - 3125 M St., NW. The Roman god of desire and affection, Cupid will be working his magic at Mie N Yu with Cupid's Arrow, a love-inducing concoction of Bacardi Citrus rum, house-infused lavender raspberry syrup, grapefruit juice and champagne.

  • J. Paul's - 3218 M St., NW. The bar is serving up the decadent Chocolate Raspberry XOXO with Silver Tequila, black raspberry liqueur, Crème de Cocoa, cream, fresh raspberries and chocolate.

  • Martin's Tavern - 1264 Wisconsin Ave., NW. The perfect way to keep warm on a cold winter night, Martin's Raspberry Truffle is a seductive hot chocolate cocktail infused with Godiva Chocolate liqueur and Chambord topped with fresh raspberry whipped cream, cinnamon and chocolate shavings. Dates can score bonus points by requesting the Proposal Booth where JFK proposed to Jackie.

  • Clyde's - 3236 M St., NW.A bolder way to ask than with a box of candy hearts, Clyde's Be Mine Martini is a mix of Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain liqueur, pomegranate juice, a squeeze of lemon and splash of soda, garnished with pomegranate seeds.

  • 1789 Restaurant - 1226 36th St., NW.1789's Love Potion #89 will have guests falling in love in no time, with a delicious mix of Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, sparkling wine and blood orange puree.

  • Daily Grill - 1310 Wisconsin Ave., NW. Everyone gets a kiss with Daily Grill's The Daily Kiss, made with muddled mint and raspberry rum, St. Germain liqueur, Grenadine, topped off with soda and two cherries.

  • Café Bonaparte - 1522 Wisconsin Ave., NW. Those who really want to impress a date with the finer things in life can try Café Bonaparte's Champagne with Strawberry Caviar. Strawberry pearls made to look like caviar are served alongside a glass of Brut Champagne, with the delicate pearls revealing a sweet strawberry sensation, and served in a dual flute perfect for sharing.

  • Nick's Riverside Grill - 3050 K St., NW. With romantic, scenic views of the Potomac, couples can head to the waterfront and sip the Love Spark, a bubbly mix of champagne and VeeV açaí liquor.

  • Degrees - 3100 South St., NW. While enjoying the classic, seductive lounge setting, guests can sip Degrees' Intense Rose martini, a mix of Bombay Sapphire, champagne, elderflower liqueur and rose water, topped with a rose petal garnish.

  • Peacock Café - 3251 Prospect St., NW. Inspired by one of the most romantic countries in the world, Peacock Café's French Kiss combines sparkling wine and Chambord, garnished with a fresh raspberry.

  • Thunder Burger - 3056 M St., NW. A unique way of giving flowers to a Valentine, Thunder Burger's Roselle Martini is a sweet blend of St. Germain liqueur, Absolut Vodka, hibiscus flower syrup and sparkling wine, garnished with an edible hibiscus flower.

  • Bangkok Joe's - 3000 K St., NW. The bar is spicing things up with Hot Lips, a sizzling love potion of Skyy Raspberry vodka, Triple Sec, sour mix and strawberry purée, rimmed with salt & thai chili power.

  • Bodega - 3116 M St., NW. Guests are invited to break the rules and taste Bodega's Forbidden Fruit, a fruity combination of Stoli Gala Applik apple vodka, mango nectar and St. Germain liqueur.

  • Sea Catch Restaurant - 1054 31st St., NW.A boozy take on the classic Valentine's Day dessert, Sea Catch's Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini is a delicious mix of Stoli Strawberry vodka, Crème de Cacao and simple syrup, served in a chocolate swirled martini glass.
