- Rosslyn Outdoor Film Festival - Fridays, April 29 - August 26, 2011. Gateway Park, Rosslyn, VA. The 2011 film festival theme is "SNL in the Movies" with 18 movies that feature actors who have regularly performed on Saturday Night Live.
- Cinco de Mayo Festival - May 1, 2011, noon-6 pm. The annual Latino celebration features live music and family entertainment on the National Mall.
- Washington Nationals Baseball Game - April 30-May 1, 2011. The DC baseball team plays at Nationals Park against San Francisco. Saturday is the MASN Umbrella Giveaway: The first 20,000 fans to enter Nationals Park will receive a red and white retractable umbrella presented by MASN. Sunday is Dream Foundation Children's Day: The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation will highlight four partners: Miracle League of Montgomery County, Student Athletes for Educational Opportunities (SAFEO), Forestville Boys and Girls Club and Banneker City Little League. Children and representatives from these local organizations will be recognized on-field and take part in the pregame ceremonies.
- Bay Bridge Boat Show - April 28 - May 1, 2011. Kent Island, Maryland. The show kicks off the boating season each spring with a display of hundreds of new and late model brokerage boats and boat equipment displays.
- Takoma Park House and Garden Tour - May 1, 2011. Celebrate the season with a self-guided walking tour of private homes and gardens. The theme for this year's tour is "Takoma Origins" and will focus on the earliest residential blocks settled in Takoma Park, Maryland.
- Sweetlife Festival - May 1, 2011. Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia Maryland. The festival is a culmination of our passion for nutritious, local food, good music, sustainable living, and sense of community. The lineup includes: The Strokes, Lupe Fiasco, Girl Talk, Cold War Kids, Crystal Castles, Ra Ra Riot, Theophilus London, Walk the Moon, US Royalty, and Modern Man.
- TOTEM Cirque du Soleil - Baltimore, Maryland. Through May 1, 2011. TOTEM traces the fascinating journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly.
- Fair Hill Grand Opening Celebration - April 29-30, 2011, 18169 Olney Town Center Drive, Olney, Maryland. Friday, 7-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. The new shopping center opens with free activities including live music, prizes, special discounts and more.
- Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Tea and the Arts - April 30, 2011, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Montpelier Mansion and Montpelier Arts Center, 9650/ 9652 Muirkirk Road, Laurel, MD. The event features herbs, teas and arts from around the globe. Shop to prepare your spring culinary garden; enjoy music; participate in hands-on history and art activities for children; View art demonstrations and exhibitions- all on the grounds of the Montpelier Mansion and in the Montpelier Arts Center.
- Loudoun Bed & Breakfast Guild Open House Tour - May 1, 2011, 1-5 p.m. Take a self-guided tour along some of the most scenic roads in Western Loudoun County, VA and visit 14 charming and historic B&Bs and one event facility participating in the tour. Local wineries, restaurants, and caterers will be providing tastings at the various B&Bs and event venues.
- Wattage: Illuminating Tradition and Survival - Through May 8, 2011, Capital
