Maloof Skateboarding and Events DC have announced a multi-year agreement to host the Maloof Money Cup on a world-class skate park to be built on the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds in Washington DC. Designed by Pro Skater Geoff Rowley and Joe Ciaglia's team at California Skateparks, the 15,000-square-foot skate park will be the first major skate park in Washington, DC and is inspired by Freedom Plaza and the architecture up and down Pennsylvania Avenue. This skate park, to be named Maloof Cup Park, will host the world's best professional skateboarders at the inaugural Maloof Money Cup D.C. on September 3-4, 2011. Tickets for Maloof Money Cup D.C. are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com Following the contest, Maloof Cup Park will be available to the community as a recreational facility throughout the year. Events DC will oversee maintenance of the park and will look to attract other special event programming at the venue.
