The 2011 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is December 1, 2011 at 5 p.m. Television and radio personality Carson Daly will host this year's event which includes a diverse program of traditional holiday music. Performers include multi-platinum producer will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, pop sensation Big Time Rush, platinum selling band OneRepublic, country music star Rodney Atkins, and six-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Marsha Ambrosius. There will also be a special appearance by Kermit the Frog of The Muppets and Santa Claus.

Tickets are required for the lighting ceremony. They were distributed through a lottery system. The lighting ceremony will air on PBS television stations across the country. You may visit the National Christmas Tree through January 1 and enjoy nightly musical performances. Read more about the National Christmas Tree.
