Fort Belvoir, located just 16 miles south of Washington DC, has been designated as the future site of the National Museum of the United States Army. The $200 million dollar museum will cover the history of the U.S. Army and will include state-of-the-art galleries and exhibit halls, a theater, a Veterans' Hall, an Education Pavilion with an experiential learning center, and a lobby with areas for visitor reception, food service, and retail sales.

The Army Historical Foundation has announced that veterans groups and service organizations now have a special opportunity to honor their membership in the National Museum of the United States Army's Veterans' Hall through a unique sponsorship program. The Veterans' Hall will serve as a multi-purpose space for veterans to host reunions, meetings, dinners, and official functions. It will feature the Registry of the American Soldier, a searchable, electronic database of Americans who have served in the U.S. Army. All sponsoring organizations will have their names permanently displayed on the wall. Read more about the U.S. Army Museum.
