Want to get to the beach without a car? Virginia Beach is the easiest beach in the Mid-Atlantic region to get to using public transportation (by train and bus). The Resort Area has 3 miles of oceanfront and its an easy place to get around once you arrive. Visitors enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities including swimming, surfing, biking, kayaking, fishing, golf, and whale- and dolphin-watching. There's live entertainment along the Boardwalk every night and a variety of restaurants serving fresh seafood and local cuisine. To learn more about the area, read my Virginia Beach Vacation Guide.
