The renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is almost complete and expected to reopen at the end of August. The iconic space on the National Mall was in terrible condition with polluted water and a cracked floor that leaked 30 million gallons of city water each year. Over the past two years, the Reflecting Pool has been rebuilt with a new support structure, a filtration pump system to keep its water clean and recirculating, and its water source will now be the Potomac River, rather than the DC public drinking water supply. It sure will be nice to once again enjoy the breathtaking views of the Lincoln Memorial.
