National Children's Museum. The museum will continue to support family-friendly programming this fall by participating in events around the capital region. Here are some events coming up in September:The Launch Zone at National Harbor will close its doors on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 to prepare for the opening of the
- Hispanic Festival - Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, noon - 5 p.m. Lane Manor Park, Adelphi, MD. Families can enjoy carnival games, arts and crafts, live music, face painting and pony rides, and ethnic food from a variety of countries.
- Clearwater Nature Fair - Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, noon - 4 p.m. Clearwater Nature Center, Clinton, MD.
The Museum will host an activity where children can make their own rain sticks.
- National Family Pack Walk - Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. National Mall, Washington DC. Join Cesar Millan (the "Dog Whisperer"), Scooby-Doo and thousands of dog lovers and their four-legged friends for the nation's largest pack walk.
- DC Green Festival - Saturday, Sept. 29-30, 2012. Washington Convention Center, Washington DC. The event features DIY demonstrations, a green film festival, keynote speakers and workshops, and a marketplace with hundreds of local and national green businesses. The Museum will provide the Imagination Playground at the event's Green Kids Zone, and will also supervise arts and crafts activities.
