Did you know that the Pentagon, the headquarters for the Department of Defense, offers public tours? The building is a unique structure and has an interesting history. It was built in 1941, during World War II, to bring the offices of branches of the military together under one roof. The Pentagon is one of Washington DC's attractions that requires advance planning.
