Lighting of the 2012 National Christmas Tree

The 2012 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is December 6, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. This year's event includes a diverse program of traditional holiday music and will be hosted by acclaimed actor, Neil Patrick Harris. Additionally, the double-platinum band The Fray, multiple Grammy® winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, and Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Ledisi will join singer James Taylor, ten-time Grammy winner singer/songwriter/producer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, two-time Grammy® winner Colbie Caillat and American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips to perform a collection of holiday favorites along with a special guest appearance by Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez

Tickets are required for the lighting ceremony. They were distributed through a lottery system. The lighting ceremony will air on PBS television stations across the country. You may visit the National Christmas Tree through January 1 and enjoy nightly musical performances. Read more about the National Christmas Tree.
