The historic Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel at 14th and K Streets in NW Washington DC has recently completed renovations to its lobby, lounge and guest rooms. The 318-room hotel, designed in Beaux Arts style by prominent French architect, Jules Henri di Sibour in 1921, now incorporates modern sophistication while maintaining much of its original structure and rich history. Some unique design features include:
- artwork of historic maps and 1920's imagery presented in modern acrylic and canvas add a contemporary vibe
- crisply painted white paneled walls and comfortable furnishings in rich and luxurious eggplant and saffron leather, mohair and velvet
- an updated front desk designed in metal studded leather, reminiscent of a roaring twenties travel trunk
- The bar has extended its lounge into the lobby with multi-functional seating for social and business gatherings
