This year, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday falls on the same day as the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Throughout the week, you can honor Dr. King's legacy by participating in activities dedicated to serving others in communities across the Washington, DC area. A number of organizations in the capital area will host concerts, film festivals and other commemorative events in honor of the civil rights leader. Members of the King family will join Americans across the country to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King by participating in National Day of Service events on Saturday, January 19.
