Lighting of the 2013 National Christmas Tree

The 2013 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is December 6, 2013 at 5 p.m. This year's event includes a diverse program of traditional holiday music including Grammy award-winning superstar Mariah Carey, Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin, The Avett Brothers, Grammy award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, acclaimed soprano and musical ambassador Renée Fleming, multicultural operatic trio Forte, Nolan Williams, Jr., jazz legend Arturo Sandoval, singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe, Latin music superstar Prince Royce, multiplatinum and Grammy-winning band Train.

Tickets are required for the lighting ceremony. They were distributed through a lottery system. The lighting ceremony will air on PBS television stations across the country. You may visit the National Christmas Tree through January 1 and enjoy nightly musical performances. Read more about the National Christmas Tree.
