Rachel Cooper is a native of Baltimore and has lived in the Washington, DC metropolitan area with her husband and two daughters since 1993. She is an outdoors enthusiast and is continually seeking out new places to explore on foot or by bike. She loves music and theatre and appreciates the rich cultural opportunities available in the Washington, DC area.

Experience:

Rachel Cooper has been the About.com Guide to Washington, DC since 2004. Her first book, "Images of Rail: Union Station in Washington DC" was published in August 2011. She has also written 101 Things to Do with Your Grandkids in Washington, D.C., for Grandparents.com and has had articles published in Washington Parent Magazine and Washington Woman Magazine.

Education:

Rachel Cooper graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism.
