Pennsylvania Avenue is a historic street in the heart of Washington, DC that has been the location of many important marches, parades, and protests. Connecting the U.S. Capitol to the White House, Pennsylvania Avenue is a ceremonial avenue that is among the most famous streets in the world. Public transportation is recommended when attending events in downtown Washington. Several Metro stations are convenient to the area including Metro Center, Federal Triangle, and Archives/Navy Memorial. Parking is at a premium in this part of the city. Numerous public parking garages can be found along streets adjacent to Pennsylvania Avenue. Free on street parking is generally restricted to two hours.
