Tidal Basin Map and Directions
The Tidal Basin is located north of the I-395 Bridge and southwest of the National Mall. It is a scenic Washington, DC attraction that is part of West Potomac Park and is surrounded by the Jefferson Memorial and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. Read more about the Tidal Basin.
Tidal Basin Map User Tips
The pink line indicates where the cherry trees are planted. Click on the map icons to get more information or specific directions from your location. Zoom in or out to see more detail using the vertical slider bar on the left hand side of the map. To recenter the map click and drag the map background. You can toggle current traffic conditions on and off by clicking on the Traffic button. You can change the type of map displayed by clicking on the Map button and selecting the desired option(s). To see Street View images, click and drag the orange man icon (located in the upper left hand corner of the map) to the desired location and release.
Note: The best way to get to the Tidal Basin is on foot. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Smithsonian Metro Station. Parking is very limited in this part of Washington, DC (the major parking garages are shown on the map by the blue "P" icons) and depending on the time of day, day of the week, and events going on you may be better off taking public transportation. There are 320 FREE parking Spaces at East Potomac Park. See information about parking near the National Mall.
