The National Cherry Blossom Festival
presents free performances on the Woodrow Wilson Plaza stage at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center,
located at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Washington DC. DC Aerial Collective, a group comprised of aerialists, musicians and visual artists who create cutting-edge productions will thrill the crowd. Nintendo will be on-site with an interactive gaming pod, and Aria Pizzeria & Bar will be open, selling food and beverages on the patio.
- Friday, April 8, 2011 - Join the Festival for “DC Day” where a fantastic mix of DC-based performers entertain. Performances begin at noon with Deb Felz, a 23-year-old up-and-coming singersongwriter, whose heartfelt voice emphasizes creative lyrics and acoustic melodies. At 4:00pm, Urban Artistry collaborates with Christylez Bacon, a GRAMMY-nominated progressive hiphop artist. At 5:00pm, the “godfather of go-go” Chuck Brown closes out the day.
- Saturday, April 9, 2011 - Performances continue including Chloé and Maud’s tap dancing to music from Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Later that afternoon, the New York-based J-Pop Morning Musuko performs their unique Japanese pop music with talented Japanese and American musicians.
Daily entertainment will also be performed at the Sylvan Theater near the Washington Monument
