National Museum of Crime & Punishment, 575 7th Street NW, Washington, DC. What’s more spooky than a Halloween program set among real historic criminal artifacts? 2013 Dates: October 18-19, 24-26 and 31, open evening hours for the special seasonal program. Tickets are different than regular museum admission tickets.

Gravensteen's Haunted House
50 Florida AVE NE, Washington DC.  The haunted house features the spooky story of The Curse of Frau Mueller with 50,000 square feet of scares on 3 floors.  September 27-28,  October 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, 24-November 2, 2013. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to  Operation Rebound to support disabled soldiers’ active, athletic lifestyles.

Markoff’s Haunted Forest has been rated the #1 Halloween attraction by Channel 7 (ABC). The Enchanted Forest, a not scary Halloween attraction designed especially for younger children. The scenes are well lit and recommended for children aged 8 years and under. October 4, 5, 11, 12, 17-19, 24-26, 31 and November 2, 2013.

Field of Screams

Take a 30 min walk on the TRAIL OF TERROR and a tour of the new LUSION MANOR haunted house, try a ride on the HADES' HAYRIDE or shoot at Zombies at the ZOMBIE PAINTBALL APOCALYPSE. Cox Farms Fields of Fear
15621 Braddock Road, Centreville, Virginia. Fields of Fear is Cox Farms scary night-time adventure. It features Cornightmare℠walkthrough cornfield terrors, Dark-Side hayride, a giant slide by torchlight, firegrounds, shopping, food, games, and entertainment. Not recommended for children less than 12 years of age. Shocktober at Paxton Manor
601 Catoctin Circle NE Leesburg, Virginia. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night during the month of October, 7-10 p.m. The haunted tour is interactive and extremely scary. (not recommended for children under 13). There are refreshments, concessions, and live music for people to enjoy after their ghostly encounter>

Halloween Woods
Algonkian Regional Park, Sterling, Virginia. Get spooked walking through a haunted forest. Not recommended for children! October 11-13, 18-19, 25-27, 31 and November 2, 2013 Hours: 7-11:30 p.m., October 7th is Run Zombie Run and October 19th is "Scream for the Cure". A portion of the proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Wounded Warrior Project.

The Fright Night
The Community Church, 19790 Ashburn Road, Ashburn VA. The haunted attraction features a spooky trail, bonfires, concessions, music, movies and activities. Fridays and Saturdays in October 2013, 7-11 p.m.

Wicked-woods Haunted Forest
I-95, Exit 118 - Thornburg, Fredericksburg, Virginia. The outdoor attractions include a haunted manor, an insane asylum and a quarter mile trail into the deep woods. Get spooked by terrifying scenes, animatronics, movie quality sets and props and professional makeup. The haunted forest is not recommended for young children. Fridays and Saturdays, October 4-November 2, 2013.

Haunted Hollow
8275 Maple Tree Lane, Warrenton, Virginia. The haunted attraction features stories at an old abandoned farm. October 4-5, 2013.

Clifton's Haunted Trail
Chapel St., Clifton, Virginia. With spooky sights and freaky movie re-enactments, this haunted train winds through the 8 acre Buckley Park. October 26, 2013 7-10 p.m.

The Death Trail
16120 Dumfries Road, Dumfries, VA. The half mile trail takes visitors through some of the scariest woods in Prince William County. October 25, 26, 27, 31 and Nov 1, 2, 2013.

Creepy Nights on Calamo
7104 Calamo Street, Springfield, VA. The Halloween attraction features a terrifying “Escape from the Zombie Uranium Mine” with animatronics, sound and special effects, and live actors.  Open from 7-10 p.m. October 25, 26 and 31, 2013. A free family-friendly Halloween Music & Light Show runs nightly from throughout October. The Light Show is family-friendly for all ages. The Zombie Haunted House is for ages 10 and up only and not for the faint of heart.
