Summer camps at the Smithsonian offer something for everyone. The Smithsonian Resident Associates sponsors full- and half-day summer camp programs for children in grades K-8 guiding them in the exploration of Washington, DC’s Smithsonian museums, the National Mall, and other regional sites. The camps focus on a specific theme such as computer technology, video arts, music & dance, exploration of other lands & outer space, theater, photography, and art. A teacher assistant program is offered for ages 15 and up.
Smithsonian Camp Schedules
Camps are offered in a one week sessions from Monday, June 22 through Friday, August 14, 2009. Half-day and Full-day programs are available. Half-day sessions are from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. Full-day sessions are from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.The full-day camps include a supervised brown-bag lunch hour. Half-day sessions include a snack time. An After-Camp Program is available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
