Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole

Water Park at Lake Fairfax

By Rachel Cooper, About.com

The Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole is a small water park especially geared to elementary-aged children. There are slides, flumes, sprays, showers, and floatables that are easy for even non-swimmers to navigate. Toddlers love splashing down the pint-sized slides and playing with the gentle bubblers. Teenagers can join a game of water volleyball and all ages enjoy floating on an inner tube down the Rattlesnake River.

The Water Mine is adjacent to Lake Fairfax Park, which features a 20-acre lake with a carousel, picnic areas, campgrounds and athletic fields. A new marina complex has just opened in 2007 offering pedal boat and canoe rentals, as well as tour boat rides.
