American University (also referred to as AU) is located on an 84-acre campus in a residential neighborhood of NW Washington, DC. The private college has a diverse student body and a strong academic reputation. It is especially known for promoting international understanding and for WAMU, American’s National Public Radio Station, one of the top NPR stations in the country.
