A Visitor’s Guide to Anacostia Park

Anacostia Park is one of Washington, DC's largest recreation areas with more than 1200 acres stretching along the Anacostia River from the Frederick Douglas Memorial Bridge to the DC/Maryland border. The park has shoreline access, a swimming pool, ball fields, trails, picnic facilities and the Anacostia Park Pavilion with public space for roller skating and special events.

Major Sites and Recreation Facilities

Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens - The park is dedicated to water plants such as water lilies, water hyacinth, lotus and bamboo. It is a great place for bird watching.

Langston Golf Course –Facilities include an 18-hole golf course, a driving range, three concession-operated marinas, four boat clubs, and a public boat ramp provide for access to the Anacostia River for recreational boating.

RFK Stadium – The 56,000-seat stadium serves as the home of the DC United as well as an arena for college and high school athletics, musical concerts and other major events.
