Robert E. Lee Monument

A monument to General Robert E. Lee is among many that lines the beautiful tree-lined Monument Boulevard in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. The statue serves as a traffic circle at the intersection of Monument Avenue and Allen Avenue. Lee was a commanding general of the Confederate army in the American Civil War. He led the Army of Northern Virginia through many fierce battles including the Battle of Gettysburg.
