The American Diabetes Association hosts two annual Tour de Cure bicycling events in the Washington DC area to support diabetes awareness, education, research, and advocacy. The Tour de Cure is not a race, but rather a ride that encourages people of all experience levels to participate in an event to raise the level of awareness about diabetes. Participants form teams and raise money to benefit the nearly 21 million children and adults with diabetes. Similar events take place each spring in over 80 cities across the country.
