Washington Craft Show at the Washington Convention Center
November 6-8, 2009. 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC (800) 368-9000 and (202) 249-3000. Hours are Friday 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Not really a holiday craft show - but conveniently scheduled just before the holiday season. Sponsored by Crafts America, the show includes the wares of more than 180 artists including metal, leather, basketry, jewelry, ceramics, glass and more. Admission: $15 Adults, $13 Senior Citizens, Ages 12 and under free.

Capital Collection of Holiday Shops
November 20-22, 2009. Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW Washington, DC. Annual holiday shopping event sponsored by the Junior League of Washington. More than 70 vendors gather at one spot to offer a variety of gift items while raising money for grants and volunteer efforts for local organizations.

Downtown DC Holiday Market
December 4 -23, 2009 Sidewalk on F Street between 7th and 8th in front of the National Portrait Gallery. Hours are noon-7 p.m. Enjoy a unique seasonal shopping marketplace in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of downtown Washington, DC. Find gift items by more than 50 local artisans including crafts, jewelry, clothing, prepared food and more.

Norwegian-American Christmas Bazaar
2009 Dates to be Announced. Union Station, 50 Massachusetts Ave. NW., Washington, DC. (202) 289-1908. Enjoy a unique holiday shopping extravaganza featuring crafts from Norway, including jewelry, calendars, trolls, dolls, holiday ornaments, and more. Admission is free.
