Fourth of July in Frederick is an all day event! Afternoon activities include live musical performances, a volleyball tournament, chili cook-off, best patriotic pageant, food and much more. The community gathers to celebrate Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

In addition to the special holiday events, recreation facilities include Culler Lake, a public swimming pool, numerous playgrounds, athletic fields and picnic areas.Independence Day Opening Ceremony
At 12 p.m. a patriot Presentation of Colors is presented by the Frederick Police Department, followed by a welcome from the mayor, live patriotic music and the Annual Best Patriotic Dressed Competition.Musical Entertainment
A wide range of music will be performed on four stages. Enjoy rock and roll, country, reggae, folk, and patriotic music throughout the day.Childrens Activities
There is plenty of entertainment for kids including pony rides, crafts, a petting zoo, carousel, train ride, moon bounces, clown, stilt walker, a dunk tank, martial arts demonstrations, remote control cars, video games and more. Amusements are priced per ride, or wristbands are available for unlimited rides.Food Contests
Chili Cook-off begins at 8:30 a.m. with judging at 2:30 p.m.Pie Eating Contest begins at 1:30 p.m. You must be 18 years or older to participate.
