701 Restaurant - 701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington DC. (202) 393-0701. $85 three-course tasting menu with a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert this Valentine’s Day.  Executive Chef Tony Conte’s menu includes Roasted Beet Salad with sour cherry vinaigrette, goat cheese and mint; Chilled Nantucket Bay Scallops with cranberry, Asian pear and star anise; Vanilla Foie Gras Terrine with pineapple quince compote and brioche; Rockfish with dill infused broth, winter vegetables and olive oil; Chanterelle Tortellini with celery root and shaved white truffle, as well as Spiced Rubbed Duck with braised red cabbage, quince puree and rosemary.  For the perfect ending, guests can choose from Chocolate Cherry Dome; Passion Fruit Vacherin, or the Champagne Cassis Terrine prepared by Pastry Chef Sally Roach.  Valet parking is available for $8 per car. Guests can enjoy live jazz music from 6:30-10:30 p.m.

2941 - 2941 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, VA (703) 270-1500. Two special menus are available on Valentine’s Day including a 3-course Prix Fixe for $75 per person and a 3-course vegetarian Prix Fixe for $48 per person. Menu highlights include Mushroom Velouté, Duck Ballotine, Duck Ballotine, Rib Eye, Grilled Swordfish, Chocolate Mandarin Tart and more.

Alba Osteria - 425 I Street, NW Washington DC. (202) 733-4454. Experience authentic Italian cuisine reflective of the Piedmonte region of Italy, Regular a la carte menu or enjoy a four-course, prix fixe menu priced at $54 per person. Begin with Roasted Tomato Soup with shrimp and parmigiano reggiano cream followed by a choice of Heart Shaped Beet Raviolo with butter and poppy seed sauce or the Tajarin, 42 egg yolk/kilo pasta and veal ragu.  Next, lovers can opt for the Scallops with cauliflower, black trumpets and chive sauce, or the Lamb Rack with rosemary sauce, potato tart and fried artichokes.  For the perfect ending, guests will choose between two decadent desserts: Torta Gianduja, hazelnut gianduja cake with apricot marmellata and hot chocolate, and the Polenta Bianca, snow white polenta, crunchy caramel and chocolate gelato.  A la carte prices range from $6 to $19.

Ambar - 523 8th Street, SE, Washington DC. A three-course, prix fixe menu, at $55 per person, showcasing dishes from the Balkan Peninsula prepared with a modern twist this Valentine’s Day or opt for dishes off the restaurant’s premium menu for $75 per person.  Standouts dishes include Grilled Chicken and Sausage Flatbread with ajvar, kajmak, pickled onion and homemade sausage; Cabbage Casuela, braised cabbage with dry pepper, yogurt and lepinja; Cheese Pie, crispy phyllo, cucumber, and roasted red pepper sauce; Roasted Mushroom Crepes with red pepper emulsion, béchamel and gouda; Lobster Spaghetti with onion, cherry, lobster juice and pecorino; Bacon and Peanut Pork Tenderloin with miso-mustard tarragon and mashed potatoes, as well as Veal Schnitzel, bread crust, kajmak, cucumber tartar and Yukon potato mash.  For dessert, lovers can opt for The Four Chocolates, dark chocolate biscuit, dark chocolate mousse, almond crumble, milk chocolate Chantilly, passion fruit espuma and raspberry sorbet, or the Panna Cotta, white chocolate panna cotta, strawberry yogurt and hazelnut biscuit.  The Valentine’s Day menu will be available a la carte on February 15th and 16th.

Ardeo+Bardeo - 3311 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington DC (202) 244-6750. three-course, prix fixe menu,  $65 per person.  Couples will begin their meal with an amuse bouche of Chilled Rappahannock Oysters with skuna caviar and agrumato before selecting their appetizer, entrée and dessert.  Chef’s featured menu offers Anson Mills Polenta with egg 63, honey mushrooms, crispy gulf oyster and mustard jus; Grilled Octopus with chorizo, patatas bravas and pedro aioli; Roman –Style Gnocchi with turnip top pesto, pine nuts and sottocenere; Brick Oven Carolina Mountain Trout with house pancetta, mushroom duxelle and truffle-foie gras butter, as well as the Grilled Pork Porterhouse with hedgehog mushrooms, kale, yukon potato puree and bacon jam jus.  For a sweet finish, dessert lovers will enjoy Nutella Cheesecake with snickers crumble, peanut butter mousse and banana brûlée.  Valet parking is available for $8 per car. 


Bastille - 1201 North Royal Street, Alexandria, VA (703) 519-3776. For Valentines Day, enjoy a four-course $85 menu. The menu will also be available throughout the weekend along with Bastille’s standard menu. Only the prix fixe will be served on February 14th. The meal includes choices such as Lobster bisque, crème fraiche, feuillete, caviar, Sea scallops Carpaccio Blood orange, roasted beets, micro arugula, Warm olive oil braised black cod, Cauliflower coulis, fennel, piquillo, olives, almonds, All Natural Veal filet, anchovy & sweet garlic sauce Jerusalem artichokes, Royal trumpet and beech mushrooms, carrots fondants and for dessert Roquefort Ice cream, port poached pears, Black pepper walnut shortbread, micro greens  or Chocolate truffles.


Bistro Vivant - 1394 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA. $59 three-course, prix fixe menu with choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Couples will begin their meal with an amuse bouche of Oysters with lemon crème fraiche and American hackleback caviar followed by appetizer options such as Chilled Lobster Salad with breakfast radish, blood orange and truffle vinaigrette; Creamy Parsnip Soup with grilled Bartlett pears and crispy chestnuts; Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with nicoise olives, fried capers, red pepper and balsamic dressing, or the Seared Foie Gras with Marcona almond, poached quince and cider gastrique.  Main dishes not to be missed include Alaskan Halibut with wild rice, braised leek, black cardamom yogurt and Meyer lemon; Grilled Quail with sweet potato puree, wild mushrooms, sunchokes and blackberries, as well as the Prime Beef Tenderloin with Pommes dauphine, Tuscan kale and sauce perigourdine.  Lovers can complete the meal with a selection of decadent desserts, which include Tarte Tatin with Spring Valley Farm apples and homemade caramel ice cream, or the Chocolate Cake with raspberry coulis. 


Blue Duck Tavern - Park Hyatt Washington, 24 and M Streets, NW. Washington DC. (202) 419-6755. Four-course, prix fixe menu, $85 per person. The menu begins with Seared Foie Gras, with house made cocoa brioche, cherry preserve and broccoli rabe. Next is the Brandy-Vanilla Butter Poached Lobster, with sweet potato pasta, Brussels sprouts and pecan, followed by Wood Oven-Fired Wagyu, with crispy potatoes, leeks and red wine jus. For dessert, the couple will indulge in Pastry Chef Naomi Gallego’s decadent Chocolate Caramel Ganache, with cinnamon sponge, golden toffee, white coffee ice cream and mandarin.

BLT Steak – 1625 I St NW, Washington, DC (202) 689-8999.Valentines Day menu will range from the indulgent Seared Fois Gras with spiced chocolate, pistachio and brandied cherries ($26) or the bracingly fresh Sea Scallops with royal trumpet mushrooms, boudin noir and caramelized pear ($34). For dessert, a Bitter Chocolate Clafoutis with coconut sorbet and almond fluff ($12) Guests can enjoy Valentine's Day Blackboard menu items a la carte or prix fixe, with three courses for $75 and an extra $45 with wine pairings. BLT Steak will also be serving its regular menu.

The Bombay Club - 815 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington DC. (202) 659-3727. Five-course, prix fixe menu, $85 per person. Guests will begin their meal with an amuse bouche of Badam Shorba with almond, rose and garlic followed by a Chaat Course and then a choice of Appetizer, Entrée and Dessert. Appetizers include Shrimp Balchao with onion, tomato and peri peri masala; Duck Roast Telangana with tomato, garlic and lime, as well as Mewe Ki Seekh with cheese, almond, raisin, ginger and cardamom.  Entrées not to be missed include Guchhi Lobster with morel, yogurt, saffron and mace; Lal Maas with lamb chop, chili, garlic and black cardamom; Nimbu Seabass with red chili, lime leaf, ginger and coconut, as well as Mustard Shrimp with yogurt cooked tandoori.  A selection of decadent desserts including Fig Murrabba-Saffron Malai; Chocolate Kulfi and Strawberry Crème Brûlée complete the meal.  Valet parking is available for $8.

BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier - 1600 King St, Alexandria, VA  (703) 894-3440. Valentine’s Day five course menu is $85, wine pairing option for an additional $50. Special menu items such as Chilled Maine Lobster with Anaheim chili and a vanilla-passion fruit vinaigrette, Roasted Rohan Duck Breast with candied kumquat, candy stripe beets and a port jus and Grilled Roseda Farms Beef Striploin with a chestnut puree, chanterelle mushrooms and marble potato.

Café du Parc - 1401 Pennsylvania, Ave., NW, Washington, DC (202) 942-7000. Enjoy a romantic gastronomic trip to Paris in downtown DC.  On February 14 and 15, treat your loved one to a delicious five-course Valentine’s Dinner in Café du Parc. The Valentine’s menu is priced at $75 per person. Seating begins at 5:00 p.m. Seatings are from 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Menu includes items such as Amuse Bouche, Local Goat Cheese Crumble with Citrus Vinaigrette, Asparagus and Wild Mushroom Fricassee, Maine Scallop, Gulf Shrimp and Crayfish Trio, Veal Two Ways and Warm Varhona Chocolate Tart with Passion Fruit Ice Cream

Café Dupont - Dupont Circle Hotel,  1500 New Hampshire Ave NW Washington, DC. (202) 797-0169. Five course prix-fixe $85; $135 with wine pairing or Three course prix-fixe $65; $95 with wine pairing. Menu full of aphrodisiacs like lobster salad with pickled radish, cucumber gelee, celery hearts, tomato granite; apple fennel carrot soup; pan seared scallops & pork belly with apple slaw & pickled mustard seed relish; truffle marbled beet risotto; and molten chocolate cake served with chai tea ice cream and candied rose petals.

City Tap House DC - 901 9th Street, NW, Washington DC. (202) 733-5333. Regular a la carte menu, or opt for an exclusive three-course, prix fixe menu with the choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert on February 14-16, 2014.  Priced at $50 per person, the prix fixe offering begins with a choice of Maine Lobster Bisque with sweet corn fritters, shaved truffle and chive crème fraiche, or the Roasted Beet Salad with Laura Chenel goat cheese, pistachio brittle and orange rosemary dressing.  Next couples can choose between the Roasted Beef Tenderloin with boulangère potatoes, cipollini onions and bordelaise sauce, or the Sauteéd Corvina with curried cauliflower, crispy Brussels sprouts and piquillo pepper coulis.  Dessert selections include Chocolate Pot de Crème with caramelized bananas and vanilla gelato, and the Salted Caramel Budino with toasted hazelnuts.

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar - 801A 9th Street, NW Washington DC. (202) 408-1600. Valentine’s Day menu with a Cuban twist February 14-16, 2014.  Couples will receive two aperitivos designed for sharing as well as their own individual entrée and a duo of desserts for $80 per couple,  Choices include Ostras Julio Lobos, baked oysters with bacon sauce, creamed spinach, and goat cheese; Guava St. Louis Style BBQ Ribs, slow cooked and glazed with guava BBQ sauce and served with a papaya-apple slaw; Ravioles Caseros, half moon ravioli filled with roasted West Indian calabaza squash, mascarpone and goat cheese served with caramelized pearl onions, baby spinach, sherry vinegar reduction sauce and toasted pumpkin seeds; Chuleta Puerco, almond adobo marinated grilled center cut rib pork chop with pineapple-smoked ham fried rice, as well as Suntanned North Atlantic Salmon with honey-mango glaze, giant yuca couscous, green squash and wilted greens with a star anise tomato sauce.  For dessert, lovers will enjoy Chocolate Torte, fallen chocolate soufflé tart layered with dulce de leche, chocolate-orange sauce and blueberry compote, and a traditional Cuban Flan of vanilla custard served with a citrus salad.  Valet parking is available for $12 per car.
 

Daikaya - 705 6th Street, NW,  Washington DC (202) 589-1600. Five-course selections followed by dessert.  $45 per person. First, couples must choose their fun bite, which includes Oyster (2) with granny smith apple ice, wasabi oil and arbequina olive oil; Head on Shrimp seared on salt and kombu, or the Miso Marinated Mozzarella with Ritz crackers and rice crackers. Then they will select an “Aomono”, or green thing, from options such as Beet Karaage with kewpie- dill yogurt; Sautéed Edamame with shrimp and garlic, or the Grilled Avocado with ponzu, crab and passion fruit.  Highlights from the “Kushi”, or skewers course include Shishamo with salt and bottarga; Wagyu Sirloin with sea urchin butter on a shiso leaf, and the Eringi with truffle butter.  Next, dinners must choose from the meat, fish and veggie course: Red Miso and Red Wine Braised Beef Cheeks with (buttery dashi) potato puree; Braised Buri with daikon radish, or the Warm Tofu with seasonal mushrooms.  Then, it is on to the rice course, which includes such options as Onigiri with kimchee and cheese; Mini Donburi with salmon and ikura, or the Grilled Onigiri with chasu and onions.  For dessert, lovebirds can order Chocolate Cupcake with white-miso cream; Cookies with cold rice “milk”, or the Nama Choco (gold leaf) with rose tempura. 

DC Coast - 1401 K Street NW Washington DC(202) 216-5988. A "For Lovers Only" menu for Valentine's from Thursday, February 13-Sunday, February 16, 2014 for $150 per person. The dinner kicks off with an Amuse Bouche of Shrimp & Grits Fritter with Creole Mustard Aioli followed by a Raw Bar for Two with Poached Shrimp, Local Oysters, Lobster and Florida Stone Crab with a Trio of Sauces. The second course is a Crab Crusted Branzino with Sunchoke Puree, Braised Baby Leeks, Saffron Nage Reduction or Grilled N.Y. Strip with Butter Poached LObster, Potato Gnocchi, Baby Bok Choy, Cabernet Jus and Black Truffle Butter. End on a sweet note with decadent Mascarpoen Cheesecake with Chocolate Shortbread Crust, Strawberry Coulis and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. The dinner includes two glasses of Champagne.
