Frederick, Maryland

Frederick, Maryland is located about an hour northwest of Washington, DC and an hour west of Baltimore. The city is the second largest in Maryland and has a 50-block historic district with many buildings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Frederick has a variety of attractions, including Civil War sites, museums, parks, recreational facilities, wineries, antique shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. For many years, Frederick, Maryland was a rural community and small town. As real estate prices near Washington, DC have climbed in recent years, farmland in Frederick County has been developed and families have moved here to find more affordable housing and less congestion.

Location

Downtown Frederick is located on the southern end of Frederick County, just north of Montgomery County. The city is accessible from I-70, I-270, US 15, and US 40.
