Loudoun County Fair
July 26 - August 1, 2009. Family fun includes a carnival, rodeo-bull riding, dairy show, goat show, horseback demonstrations, magic acts, pet shows, floral exhibits, obstacle courses, tug-of-war, live musical entertainment and more.

Asian Festival
August 1-2, 2009. Reston, Virginia. The Asian festival in Reston, Virginia showcases unique music, cultural performances, food, gifts, and entertainment of Asia. This year's festival is showcasing India.

Redskins Training Camp
July 30-August 8, 2009. Redskins Park, Ashburn, Virginia. Fans are invited to watch the Washington Redskins gear up for the season. August 8 is Fan Appreciation Day.

Legg Mason Tennis Classic
August 1 - 9, 2009. This is an annual men’s tennis tournament held in Washington, DC.

Railroad Days at the Lyceum Museum
August 1-2, 2009. Alexandria’s History Museum hosts a free family event displaying model trains! Learn about Alexandria’s railroad history. Hours are Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Strathmore’s Comcast Film Festival
August 14-21, 2009. Enjoy outdoor movies on the lawn at Strathmore Hall in Bethesda, Maryland.

Woodstock Tribute Concert on the National Mall
August 15, 2009, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sylvan Theatre, Washington Monument. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the historic event a free all day concert will feature the music of Jimmy Hendrix, the Who, Janis Joplin, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the Grateful Dead, Santana and much more.

DC Beer Week
August 16-21, 2009. Many Washington DC restaurants offer beer and food specials throughout the week.

Alexandria Cambodian Community Day Festival
August 23, 2009, noon to 6 p.m. Explore the Cambodian culture through displays of traditional Cambodian arts, crafts, paintings, souvenirs, and food.

Washington, DC Restaurant Week
August 24-30, 2009. More than 100 of Washington, DC’s finest restaurants will be offering 3-course lunches for $20.09 and 3-course dinners for $35.09 for this gourmet event.

Columbia Heights Day
August 29, 2009. Harriet Tubman Elementary School, 11th & Kenyon Streets NW, Washington, DC. The community event includes live music, food, vendors, guest speakers, children's activities and more.

Washington DC Feet in the Street
August 29, 2009. Fort Dupont Park. The new event promotes physical activity with guided nature hikes, bike rides, bicycle skill sessions for kids, free bike rentals and much more.

Maryland Renaissance Festival
August 29 - October 25, 2009. A 16th century English village with crafts, food, live performances, games and lots more. Located in Crownsville, Maryland.
