DC Capitol Fair
Through July 6, 2014. RFK Stadium Grounds, Washington DC. The summer carnival features dozens of rides, games, foods and live entertainment.

Independence Day at Mount Vernon
July 4, 2014. The Red, White and Blue event features musical performances, a wreathlaying ceremony, free birthday cake for all (while supplies last) and a visit by 'General Washington' himself.

Summer Tennis Tournaments
July 9-22, 2014. The Washington Kastles begin their season of Advanta World TeamTennis (WTT), bringing live tennis tournaments to Washington, DC.

Capital Fringe Festival
July 10-27, 2014. This annual performing arts festival will feature more than 140 unique performances in 20 venues around Washington, DC.

Alexandria Birthday and Independence Day Fireworks
July 12, 2014, Oronoco Bay Park. The annual event includes children’s activities, a concert performed by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, birthday cake and a fireworks extravaganza.

Bastille Day Events
July 12-14, 2014. Celebrate French culture and commemorate the storming of the Bastille Prison in 1789 and the launch of the French Revolution. See a guide to special events in Washington DC.

Baltimore/Washington One Caribbean Carnival
July 12-13, 2014. Baltimore, Maryland. The event features groups representing the Caribbean, Latin America and the Diaspora in colorful costumes portraying different themes, dancing to the sound of Calypso, Soca, Reggae, African, Haitian, Latin and Steelband music.

Brew at the Zoo
July 17, 2014. National Zoo, Washington DC. Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) host the annual  event bringing together more than 60 of the nation's finest microbreweries for beer sampling.

Comcast Outdoor Film Festival in Alexandria
July 17-18, 2014. See family-friendly outdoor movies in the heart of Alexandria.

Screen on the Green
Mondays, July 21-August 11, 2014. Watch classic movies on a large screen on the National Mall. Bring the whole family out for an evening of fun under the stars.

Howard County Restaurant Weeks
July 21-August 4, 2014. Howard County, Maryland. The Farm-2-Table summer dining specials offer a great opportunity to enjoy locally grown products while trying new restaurants and supporting local farmers and food and beverage purveyors.

Loudoun County Fair

Redskins Training Camp
July 24-August 11, 2014. Redskins Park, Richmond, Virginia. Fans are invited to watch the Washington Redskins gear up for the season.

Metro Silver Line Opens – July 26, 2014. The new line of the Metro begins service in Northern Virginia.

Christmas in July in Old Town Alexandria
July 26, 2014. Enjoy a variety of festive activities including pictures with “Summer” Santa & Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, children’s story time stations, arts and crafts, ice cream social, musical entertainment and much more.

Citi Open Tennis Classic
July 26-August 3, 2014. This is an annual men’s tennis tournament held in Washington, DC.

Montgomery County Farm Tour
July 26-27, 2014. Explore local farms and purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants and other local products. Several farms have hayrides, pony rides, music, demonstrations and other fun and educational activities for all ages.

Amaluna – Cirque du Soleil
