Smithsonian Folklife Festival
June 25-29 and July 2-6, 2008. Celebrate cultural traditions from around the world. The Festival includes daily and evening music and dance performances, crafts and cooking demonstrations, storytelling and discussions of cultural issues. This is one of Washington, DC’s most popular summer events.
AT & T National Golf Tournament
July 2-6, 2008. Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, Maryland. The PGA Tour, hosted by Tiger Woods, is a first class event featuring 120 top golf professionals competing at one of the highest-ranked courses in the country.

Occoquan River Festival
July 27, 2008, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Occoquan Regional Park and surrounding attractions in Occoquan, Virginia. The first annual event will include a Taste of Occoquan, live music, family fun walk and other events focusing on the 400th anniversary of John Smith's initial journey on the Occoquan River with a re-enactment of his landing and culminating with a parade of lights along the river. Loudoun County Fair
