Billie Jean is a female Andean bear at the National Zoo in Washington DC. Andean bears are listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List of threatened animals. As their name suggests, Andean bears live in the Andes mountain range and outlying mountain ranges, from western Venezuela south to Bolivia.
