Dupont Circle is a traffic circle in Washington, DC that is the center of a cosmopolitan neighborhood with some of the city' finest museums, historic homes and foreign embassies as well as a variety of ethnic restaurants, bookstores, and private art galleries. In the center of the circle is a fountain designed by Daniel Chester French and architect Henry Bacon. The neighborhood around the circle has taken on the name Dupont Circle.
