Under 21 and looking for some fun in Washington DC? There are several entertainment venues that are open to all ages and offer music and dancing. Some of the clubs are open specifically to ages 18+ and some have special nights or events that are geared to under 21. 815 V St, NW. Washington, DC. (202) 393-0930. The 930 Club is one of the largest and most popular music venues in the nation's capital. Unless otherwise posted, events are open to all ages. Concerts feature local, national and international performers. Tickets are required and can be purchased in advance.
Old Dominion Brewhouse, 1219 9th Street NW Washington DC. New in 2012. A live music venue for all ages, a mixture of music (both live and spun) and comedy for the 18+ crowd. Revolving art installations showcase local and East coast emerging talent.
3701 Mt. Vernon Ave. Alexandria, VA. (703) 549-7500. The Birchmere is open to aall ages, all the time. It is a 500-seat dinner-theater style Music Hall offering a variety of musical performances and dance-oriented shows.
1811 14th St. NW, Washington, DC. (202) 667-4490. The club is open to all ages and features independent and alternative music by local, national, and international performers. The Red Room Bar and Food For Thought Café are open seven nights a week.
1940 9th Street NW Washington, DC (202) 483-5000. DC9 is usually a 21 and over club, but has a lot of 18+ shows and some all ages shows. The age restriction will be noted if the show allows under 21 patrons. The nightclub offers a mix of music and entertainment.
33 Patterson St NE Washington DC. (202) 842-3401. Washington's largest nightclub has three floors, four distinctive rooms, an outside patio, seven bars, four DJ booths, and secluded VIP rooms. It is open to ages 18+ and features some of the region's top talent.
410 7th St. NW Washington, DC (202) 556-2050. The restaurant honors the barbecue and live music of Texas with performances on the lower level Tuesday through Saturday nights. The music includes Honky-Tonk, Western Swing, Rockabilly, Roots Rock, Alternative Country, Blues and Americana. Some performances are free, most are for all ages.
1222 First Street, NE Washington, DC. (888) IBIZADC. 18+ on Saturday nights. The nightclub has four rooms, each with a different atmosphere including state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and a rooftop terrace with Capitol views.
227 Maple Ave E Vienna, VA. (703) 255-1566. Jammin Java is a music club and cafe (coffee house) that features live music seven nights a week. They also have a full lineup of children and family-oriented performances on weekday mornings and afternoons. It is an all-ages venue all the time.
Vermont and K NW. Washington DC (202) 347-8601. The premiere nightclub and lounge, located in the K Street Corridor, has several dance floors and plays a wide selection of lively music. 18+ on Thursdays only.
