George Washington Birthnight Banquet and Ball at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum

You are invited to celebrate George Washington’s Birthday at a re-creation of a 1799 Birthnight Banquet and Ball. Gadsby’s Tavern Museum in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia will hold its annual celebration of the birth of our first President, George Washington on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. The ball will begin at approximately 9 p.m. The evening includes an 18th century banquet and English Country Dancing, a dessert collation, toasts, and character re-enactors, including General and Mrs. Washington. “After-five” attire is encouraged, period costumes are optional.

Tickets for the Birthnight Banquet and Ball

$100 per person, or $50 for the ball only. Advance registration is required. This popular event sells out every year. Call (703) 838-4242 to reserve your ticket or purchase them online.

Additional sponsorship levels are available at $200. Proceeds from the event benefit the Museum’s educational, research, and preservation programs.

Learn the basic steps of English Country Dancing

Participants can prepare for the ball with instruction from Dance Master Corky Palmer. $300 includes dance class series and the Birthnight Banquet and Ball.
