Guide Review - La Tasca Restaurant Review
The list of tapas includes a variety of items, some that are not quite authentic Spanish dishes. The most recommended are grilled salmon over a ragout of vegetables, grilled prawns, eggplant baked with cheese and tomatoes, mushroom sautéed with oil and garlic, and a fritura mixta de pescado, consisting of deep-fried squid, swordfish, and shrimp. The only main course is paella, offered in four versions - Valenciana, meat, seafood, and vegetarian.
La Tasca is decorated in bright colors with hundreds of plates, paintings, and wrought-iron objects on the walls. The restaurant is large and spacious, seating 250 people on two levels. The lower level has its own bar and pillows making a cozy space to hang out with friends. The Washington, DC location is across from Gallery Place and the Verizon Center.
