Guide Review - Old Ebbitt Grill Restaurant Review

The Old Ebbitt Grill is a 525-seat saloon-style restaurant located in the historic Beaux-Arts building that was once the B. F. Keith's Theater. The restaurant, owned by the Clyde's Restaurant Group, was relocated to its current space in 1970. There are four bars, four dining rooms and a private dining room for private parties. The unique Victorian decor features a vast collection of antiques and memorabilia including antique gas chandeliers, animal heads and magnificent oil paintings.

The menu includes a wide variety from burgers to elegantly prepared shellfish. Favorites include the Parmesan crusted Virginia trout, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, and Veal Stew simmered with vegetables and herbs over mashed potatoes. The Oyster bar is ranked as one of the best in DC and is especially popular during the half-price happy hour on weekdays from 3-6 p.m. Old Ebbitt Grill serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and an a la carte brunch. Old Ebbitt Express offers carryout service for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.
