Guide Review - Sweetgreen Review - Washington, DC
Sweetgreen offers customer-crafted salads, wraps and frozen yogurt with
fresh, organic ingredients. The menu is broken into categories such as Chef Crafted, Old School Favorites, and Mix Your Own Greens. The salads/wraps are made in front of you as you select from a wide variety of ingredients. There is an interesting selection of 16 salad dressings. I tried the Guacamole Greens which was terrific. Organic juices and teas and bottled water are available to drink. Plain non-fat yogurt is dressed up with a variety of fresh fruit toppings.
The restaurants are green certified, powered by Clean Currents and incorporate sustainable, organic products, biodegradable packaging, and reusable canvas bags. The decor is casual with the space incorporating reclaimed hickory from a Virginia barn into the walls, floor and ceiling of the restaurant. Long communal-style tables are made from reclaimed, pre-1980 bowling alleys. The Bethesda location will offer outdoor patio seating during the warmer months of the year.
