My friends and I, all active military or retired military, visited Bobby Vans last week. We were seated and expected a great dinner, based on the price of food there, it must be good right? definitely not. I got one of the daily specials, fettuccine with scallops. Asking the waiter if it was a white cream sauce, he said yes, so I ordered. It was not a white cream sauce, but a tomato sauce, the pasta was very overcooked almost to mush, and the scallops were still frozen in the center, hardly worth $28, it tasted like a "budget gourmet" frozen meal. Steaks and Tuna were definitely not cooked to the order, like rare was well, etc.

This was just the beginning, as a large group of well dressed gentlemen were seated at the table behind us, where they started to drink heavily and started making loud racist comments about, Jews (I am), Blacks (two of our party were), Gays, Hispanics (one of our party was, as well as our waiter, who could hear everything), and other inappropriate comments in loud drunken tones. I went and spoke to the Floor manager and asked if he could do something, and they were moved to another table across the room, where they continued to make comments, now directed at us, from across the room. I fight for the right of free speech and first amendment rights, and am prepared to give my life for it, but this is way too far. Bobby Vans obviously wanted to keep these customers and drive us out. These customers must be repeat customers, lobbyists, congressmen, lawyers, etc. Not a professional establishment by any means. Overpriced garbage for food, racist comments allowed, non-caring staff, my recommendation is STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS!!!
