Figure Skating Achievement

Kimmie Meissner placed sixth in the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy. She placed third at the 2005 U.S. Nationals in Portland, Oregon and became the second U.S. woman in history to land the triple Axel. (Tonya Harding first landed the Triple at the 1991 U.S. Nationals.) Meissner won her first national title in the novice division in 2003. She won again in 2004 qualifying for the World Junior Championships in the Netherlands. There, she won the Silver Medal. In 2005, at her first senior Nationals, Meissner placed third behind Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen.
