The Hirshhorn Museum is the Smithsonian's museum of modern and contemporary art comprised of approximately 11,500 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, collages, and decorative art objects.

Museum open daily from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Plaza from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Closed December 25. Sculpture Garden (weather permitting) June 1 - September 30 Mondays - Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.

About the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden:

The focus of the Hirshhorn Museum is on collections of twentieth century art, mostly from works created during the last 30 years. The collection includes arts of traditional historical themes addressing emotion, abstraction, politics, process, religion, and economics. Key international artists are represented from Picasso and Giacometti to de Kooning and Warhol.

Special programs include tours, talks, lectures, films and workshops, and family events. The Museum Shop offers a selection of books, postcards, posters on modern and contemporary art and other gift items.
